An exciting afternoon all round for our FdA Airport and Airline Management degree (in partnership with Teesside University) students, who recently spent time behind the scenes at Newcastle Airport!
The group were able to gain a further understanding of life working in the travel industry, with the opportunity to experience all areas of ground handling and see for themselves the diversity of this exciting sector.
The day gave the students the chance to get up close and personal with the Emirates B777-300 – a jumbo jet that boasts a passenger count of over 350 with the ability to hold tonnes of cargo.
The class were also able to speak to key personnel, board the Emirates jet and even enjoy seats in the first class cabin. Additionally, they were provided with the chance to experience a live check in for British Airways and KLM as well as helping to push back an aircraft.
The session proved to be invaluable for the group and is just a sample of the incredible, real-life experiences our students can expect from enrolling on one of the courses at Middlesbrough College.
