Lee-Ann from DISC visited the College on Wednesday 24th February and gave information and guidance on LGBT History Month.
Valentines C-Card
In the run up to Valentine’s Day, Linx Project came into College on the 12th February to offer C-Cards to students. With your support the Valentines Cup-cake sale also raised £62.60 for Cancer Research.
Student Wellbeing Week
Student Wellbeing Week took place between the 1st-5th February 2016 The event was attended by many external services including Shontal—Affordable Credit, Mindfulness Sessions and Motivational Speaker Paul King. Many college services also got involved including our beauty department who offered relaxing treatments, and our catering team who offered a range of health food options.
The College raised Awareness for Safer Internet Day at the Student Wellbeing Week. You can book onto the advantage programme for more information in keeping yourself safe.
The Wellbeing Week Competition had 127 entries throughout the week and the winners included:
Bike & Helmet: Tom Metcalfe
Fitbit: Daisy Abramson & Andrew Green
£25 High Street Voucher: Samantha Douglass, Ben Larkin, Janet Alder & Tammy Mendum.
The Marketing team followed the event throughout the week sharing updates on the official Facebook and Twitter pages.
Holocaust Memorial Day
Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on 27 January each year. It’s a time for everyone to pause to remember the millions of people who have been murdered or whose lives have been changed beyond recognition during the Holocaust, Nazi Persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
27th January marks the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.
Two MC6 tutors raised awareness in the college by offering information on the Holocaust Memorial Day.

This new and interactive blog is the perfect place to find out about all the latest news and events happening in and around College.
The blog has come about as a direct result of our student led focus groups. You told us that you’d like a more direct form of communication which you can easily access- and we listened!
